What We Do

CAUSE supports science faculty in reaching their goals for instruction. We work with faculty to design research-based instructional practices and provide support for conducting educational research. Our initiatives include instructional innovation grants, professional development workshops, and one-on-one support. CAUSE is dedicated to empowering instructional faculty and building innovative communities of practice that facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Dual motivations drive the CAUSE commitment to science education. We recognize the significance of both “research to practice” and “practice to research” as integral to improving undergraduate science education. Our targeted programs embrace a strong scholarly basis that looks to move research findings into practice, as well as to generate original research insights.
